KnitPicks Peruvian Highland Wool Bulky (100% Peruvian
highland wool)
137 yards per 100 grams
1 hank in the color lumberjack

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 10 (6MM) 16” circular needles
Tapestry needles, marker, measuring
tape

GAUGE
3 – 3.75 sts = 1” on #10 – 11 needles (6.0mm-8.0mm)

NOTES
This hat is worked from the bottom up. No double-pointed needles required.

DIRECTIONS
CAST ON
With circular needles, CO 72 sts. Join, taking care not to twist sts, and pm for
EOR.

HAT
Round 1: Purl the entire round. Continue to
purl until your work measures 4 1/2”. Be sure to pull your curled work when measuring to get an accurate measurement. Now knit for another 4 1/2”. Your work should now measure 9” in total.

DECREASING
*NOTE* Your work will get tighter as you decrease, but
16” circulars are doable.

K8, K2TOG. Repeat from * around. There will not be
8 sts left at the end of this round. That is okay. Continue to knit the last sts regularly to finish the round. Do this at the end of every decrease round.
K7, K2TOG. Repeat from * around.
K6, K2TOG. Repeat from * around.
K5, K2TOG. Repeat from * around.

K4, K2TOG. Repeat from * around.
K3, K2TOG. Repeat from * around.
K2, K2TOG. Repeat from * around.

FINISHING
Cut yarn, leave a long tail to thread through your tapestry needle, weave through live stitches, and
sinch your work. Weave in your ends to secure and cut. Weave in any remaining ends.
