GAUGE
3 – 3.75 sts = 1” on #10 – 11 needles (6.0mm-8.0mm)

DIRECTIONS
CAST ON
With circular needles, CO 148 sts. Join,
taking care not to twist sts, and pm for
EOR.

COWL
Knit 3 rounds.

Next round: *P3, K3, repeat from * 2 more times, P3. Place your 2nd marker. You should have a total of 21 sts in between both markers. Repeat this round until your basketweave section is 4 rows high. The basketweave section must always be 4 rows high before alternating.

Next round: Slip marker, K3, P3, repeat from * 2 more times, K3. Slip the 2nd marker. Knit to the end of the round. Alternate between these two (2) every 4 rounds until your work measures 5” high from the beginning.

DECREASING
Work in pattern up to the 2nd maker,
slip m, k2tog, *k29, k2tog,
repeat from * 3 more times, k1.
143 sts left.

pattern for the next 3 rounds.

Next round: Work in pattern up to the 2nd
maker, sm, k2tog, *k10 k2tog,
repeat from * 9 more times.

FINISHING
Cut yarn and leave a long tail to
thread through your tapestry needle
and weave through live stitches and
sinch your work. Weave in your ends
to secure and cut. Weave in any
remaining ends.
